Ke$ha Talks VMA Garbage Bag Ensemble, Lady Gaga's Meat Suit

'It was amazing. I got to wear a garbage bag on national TV,' singer says.

Even if they didn't walk away with Moonmen, just about everybody who attended the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards exited the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles a winner. Taylor Swift started some buzz with new music, and Paramore's Hayley Williams finally got to do a live tag-team with B.o.B. Another winner in spirit? Ke$ha, whose first visit to the VMAs was a positive one.

"It was amazing. I got to wear a garbage bag on national TV," Ke$ha gushed on the red carpet at the premiere of the second season for the HBO show "Eastbound and Down." "It was fun. It was good. And I got nominated for four, and it was a dream come true just to be there."

The 23-year-old singer, who did indeed wear a dress made from garbage bags, was impressed with the level of fashion experimentation at this year's show. "It was fun. I think everybody was having fun with it," she said. However, she is not entirely sure she would be able to take the steps that Lady Gaga did with her head-turning meat-based ensemble. "I don't know if I could actually put raw meat on me," she admitted.

With the VMAs behind her, Ke$ha is working on a new album, but was mostly excited to get out and support her favorite show on television. "I don't watch TV, but this show I connect with on a really deep level," she said. "I kind of feel like I'm the female version of Danny McBride: Kind of white trash, just ready to party."

The Moonmen have all been handed out and the stars have gone home, but there's plenty of 2010 MTV Video Music Awards news, interviews, behind-the-scenes scoop, party reports and more still to come, so keep it locked on MTVNews.com.

Michael Jackson Doctors Won't Be Charged In Singer's Death

California state investigators will not file charges against seven other doctors who treated the late star.

Seven doctors who treated the late Michael Jackson will not be charged in the singer's death. According to The Associated Press California officials said Wednesday (July 28) that they will not file charges against the doctors who were under scrutiny as part of an investigation launched by the state's Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement.

Jackson passed away in June 2009 after suffering cardiac arrest. His personal doctor Conrad Murray — who was not one of the seven doctors included in the investigation — has been charged in his death and pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter after allegedly giving the star the potent anesthetic propofol.

"I am very disappointed," said Brian Oxman, an attorney for Michael Jackson's father Joe Jackson. "The misuse of medications by Michael Jackson in the last years of his life was excessive and to fail to bring that to the public eye is ignoring reality." Oxman is serving as Joe Jackson's lawyer in a wrongful death suit against Murray.

Bureau spokesperson Christine Gasparac told the AP that one of the doctors who was under investigation was referred to the California Medical Board for prescribing drugs to one of Jackson's aliases, however, a spokesperson for the board did not confirm the referral. A spokesperson for the Drug Enforcement Agency told the AP that it has also dropped its investigation into Jackson's doctors.

Murray lawyer Ed Chernoff has maintained that the doctor did not administer a fatal dose of propofol and has suggested that either Jackson gave himself the anesthetic or another person may have supplied the late star with the dose. However, an anesthesia expert has said the possibility of Jackson administering the drug himself is unlikely.

A preliminary hearing in the Jackson manslaughter case is slated for August and Murray faces a sentence of up to four years in jail.

The star power at the upcoming American Music Awards just got kicked up a notch — or 20. In addition to the previously announced performance from Christina Aguilera, the November 21 show at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles will feature the debut AMA appearances from three of music's hottest young stars.

Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and Ke$ha will all perform at the show alongside a roster of veteran acts including Bon Jovi, Pink and Usher. Fittingly, all three newbies are also nominated for Artist of the Year, a category that features heavy-hitters Eminem and Lady Gaga as well. Em and Lady Antebellum lead all nominees with five apiece.

"As a small-town kid from Canada, I never imagined that I would be nominated for AMAs, let alone be performing on the show," Bieber said, according to The Associated Press, which added that the 16-year-old professed to feel "extremely humbled and honored" by the invitation to play the show.

More presenters and performers will be announced in coming weeks.

"Justin, Katy and Ke$ha have been on the top of the charts all year long. We are happy to see each of them make their own AMA history," AMA producer Larry Klein said in a statement announcing the additions. Bieber is nominated in four categories overall, while Ke$ha and Perry are up for three awards.

Winners will be determined by online voting at AMA.ABC.com.

Who are you most excited to see perform at the AMAs? Let us know in the comments!

Beyonce Says She's 'A Feminist, In A Way'

Singer also talks about retiring alter ego Sasha Fierce and starting a family, in You magazine.
By James Dinh

Whether it's "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" or the Destiny's Child classic "Independent Women," most of Beyoncé's catalog consists of strong female-empowerment anthems. So it's no surprise that the singer considers herself to be a feminist.

In an interview with the U.K.'s You magazine, the pop star opens up about the importance of female companionship, not needing to hide behind Sasha Fierce and her much-talked-about baby plans.

"I think I am a feminist, in a way. It's not something I consciously decided I was going to be; perhaps it's because I grew up in a singing group with other women, and that was so helpful to me," she told the magazine. "It kept me out of so much trouble and out of bad relationships. My friendships with my girls are just so much a part of me that there are things I am never going to do that would upset that bond. I never want to betray that friendship, because I love being a woman and I love being a friend to other women."

Most recently, Beyoncé has certainly made her share of female friends in the industry. In the past year, the singer has collaborated with Lady Gaga ("Video Phone" and "Telephone") and Alicia Keys ("Put It in a Love Song").

While the singer might always have female besties, there's one thing she's cut out of the picture: alter ego Sasha Fierce. Earlier this year, the pop star revealed that she "killed" Sasha, and now she said the alter-ego absence is due to her newfound self-awareness.

"I don't need Sasha so much anymore, because these days, I know who I am. It takes time to figure out who you are, and I am still discovering different things about myself. As I am exposed to different experiences, I think, 'Oh, I like this. I didn't know I liked this,' " she explained. "That's the journey of life that is so exciting. More and more, I know who I am, I know what I like, I know what I want, and that makes me feel so free."

In fact, B already has her eye on some personal life goals. "My ambition is to continue to learn about the world and to eventually have a family," she said. And while Beyoncé remained coy about when she and husband Jay-Z will expand the Carter family, she hinted that there's really "no dates, no times" to motherhood. "It will happen when I am ready."

'The Walking Dead' Lurches From Comic Book To AMC

TV show, based on Robert Kirkman's zombie series, premieres Halloween night.
By Rick Marshall

This weekend, hordes of flesh-hungry zombies will finally shamble their way from printed page to television screen as AMC premieres its new post-apocalyptic horror series "The Walking Dead" on Halloween night.

Based on writer Robert Kirkman's long-running comic book series that debuted in 2003, "The Walking Dead" chronicles the trials and tribulations of former Kentucky police officer Rick Grimes as he struggles to first find then protect his family in a nightmarish landscape where corpses walk and living humans are an endangered species.

The premiere of "The Walking Dead" culminates just over a year of casting, filming and near-constant conversation about the project among comic book and horror fans, and puts Oscar-winning filmmaker Frank Darabont ("The Shawshank Redemption," "The Mist") in the director's chair for the pilot episode, "Days Gone Bye." No stranger to horror fare, Darabont also serves as executive producer of the series, and wrote or co-wrote each episode in the initial six-episode arc.

When MTV News visited the set of "The Walking Dead" in June, the fan-favorite auteur discussed the project amid overturned cars and abandoned military vehicles in a closed-off section of downtown Atlanta — with a massive crowd of background actors made up to look like zombies milling about just a few feet away.

Comparing the tone of the series to a classic western, Darabont likened lead actor Andrew Lincoln to well-known Hollywood heroes of the Old West, such as "High Noon" star Gary Cooper.

"I always kind of knew it, but it really came home as we've been shooting the last few days — it really does turn into a Western at times," Darabont said. "You see [Lincoln] riding into the dusty streets of the town here, only it happens to be Atlanta with these skyscrapers, [and] it's a very cool mix of visual elements. There's a little John Ford meets 'I Am Legend' thing going on here."

Kicking off with a 90-minute premiere, "The Walking Dead" has AMC hoping it has yet another award-winning series on its hands to tout alongside such recent hits as "Mad Men" and "Breaking Bad." In fact, Lincoln recently told MTV News it was the latter of those two series that inspired Darabont's approach to "The Walking Dead."

"He said, 'I want you to watch two things,' " Lincoln said of his early conversations with Darabont about the role. " 'Breaking Bad,' which is a show he was a huge admirer of, so I rewatched the first series. And he said, 'Watch Gary Cooper,' so I watched 'High Noon.' "

For Darabont, the tonal connection between the two projects was so significant that he recruited "Breaking Bad" director/producer Michelle MacLaren to direct the series' second episode.

Still, despite the connections between "The Walking Dead" and any existing movie or television projects, Darabont and the series' creative team and cast have remained adamant about one aspect throughout the project's development: The source of its appeal lies firmly in the characters, tone and visual foundation established by Kirkman and the comic book's artists, Tony Moore and Charlie Adlard.

"What I find is that we're very much on course with the philosophy we approached the show with," Darabont told MTV News earlier this month. "From the very first, I always said to Robert Kirkman, 'I want to follow the narrative path you've laid out, but I want to take as many interesting detours and step off the path for a little bit as [much as] we can, as long as it feels organic to the overall.' "

"The Walking Dead" premieres Sunday, Halloween night, at 10 p.m. ET on AMC.

Britney Spears 'Glee' Episode Draws Record-Setting Ratings

Tribute episode brings in 13.3 million viewers.
By James Dinh

Madonna's "Glee" tribute episode might have been titled "The Power of Madonna," but it was the show's tribute to Britney Spears that reigned supreme. The broadcast, which featured cameos from the pop princess herself, drew 13.3 million viewers, leading the 8 p.m. hour and posting its best-ever rating among adults 18-49.

Tuesday night's episode, appropriately titled "Britney/Brittany," had a 5.8 rating and rose 4 percent from last week's season-two premiere. The feat made history for "Glee," as it becomes the first series since NBC's "Seinfeld" in 1993 to debut as the top series of the week and then spike in ratings the following week, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The episode, which highlighted Heather Morris' character Brittany S. Pearce, revolved around the McKinley High students' fight to perform Britney Spears numbers. Through anesthesia-induced sequences, the Gleeks tapped into their inner pop star to perform renditions of the singer's hits, including " ... Baby One More Time" and "Me Against the Music."

In addition to Spears' appearances on the hit Fox show, the singer took to Twitter during the West Coast premiere to thank fans for campaigning in support of the episode. "I loved it! Thank you guys SO much for making this happen!" she tweeted. The pop princess also gave props to the many song and video re-creations, including "I'm a Slave 4 U," saying, "Slave: Oh ... My ... God ...! Those little boys are SO cute! I know how hard it is to dance with that snake! Nice job."

Spears' manager, Adam Leber, also showed his appreciation for the episode, which spawned multiple trending topics on Twitter. "So glad you guys loved the GLEE episode! The Overwhelming worldwide response has been insane.3 of the top 10 worldwide trending topics.Sick! Big big big thank you to Ryan Murphy, the incredible cast and Brit's fans for making it happen...."

After such success, it wouldn't be surprising if the rumors of a second Spears-devoted episode came true, since "Britney/Brittany" only included hits from the first few years of the singer's career.

'Girl With The Dragon Tattoo' Star Says She's 'Done' With Lisbeth Salander

'I've moved on and I don't want to repeat myself,' she says of the Swedish adaptations of Stieg Larsson's 'Millennium' trilogy.
By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

Photo: MTV News

There's probably a country somewhere in the world where Stieg Larsson's "Millennium" trilogy hasn't become a best-seller. For years, the Swedish author's crime thrillers — starting with "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" and concluding with "The Girl who Kicked the Hornet's Nest" — have been flying out of bookstores all over the world.

But as Larsson fans know, the series about journalist Mikael Blomkvist and hacker Lisbeth Salander may not be over. Though Larsson died in 2004, he reportedly completed three-quarters of a fourth "Millennium" book, and he may have even started on a fifth.

The first three novels have already been made into Swedish films; in those movies, Salander was portrayed by Noomi Rapace, an actress now co-starring in the sequel to "Sherlock Holmes" and rumored to be up for the "Alien" prequel.

Though the "Millennium" films have launched Rapace to international stardom, she has vowed never again to play Salander, even if films were to be crafted from Larsson's other manuscripts.

"It's done. I'm done with her," she told MTV News while promoting "The Girl who Kicked the Hornet's Nest." "I did everything I could and she was in my life very strong for one and a half years, and then I left her. I've moved on and I don't want to repeat myself."

Stepping into the role of a character who has become something of a folk hero in Sweden was no easy task: She spent more than half a year learning to kickbox and ride a motorcycle, and she had to overhaul her eating habits to more closely resemble the small-framed Salander.

"When I was preparing, I did a lot of physical things and I felt like she was coming," Rapace explained. "I didn't want to force her. ... I drove a lot of motorcycles and I was on a diet, so my body changed slowly into her. Then I felt like she was coming. It was like small puzzle pieces that came into the right places."

Rapace is ready to turn the page.

"[Larsson] wrote three books and no one really knows how much there really is," she said. "There's a lot of rumors and I feel like it's better to leave it and say, 'This is it, OK, bye, now I'm off to something else and to new things.' "

Check out everything we've got on "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo."

Mariah Carey Says Revealing Pregnancy 'Was A Relief'

Mariah Carey called into the radio show hosted by her husband, Nick Cannon, on Friday morning (October 29) to thank her friends, fans and family who have been sending an outpouring of congratulations since Carey announced on Thursday that she is pregnant. The singer laughed a lot when dishing with Cannon all about her feelings now that she's gone public with the big news.

"Right now I feel nauseous and exhausted!" she joked, adding that she shot some videos for her new Christmas album Merry Christmas II You, out Tuesday. "They weren't complete music videos, but they're gonna be cute. ... I didn't tell anybody thank you for the well wishes. I wasn't in touch with anybody at all. You've been out in the world today. I'm still insulated."

Carey, a notorious workaholic, admitted that she did have some plans to slow down once she completes press for the album. "I guess after New Year's... I guess Christmas, obviously, I got big plans," she revealed. "Yes we do [have a lot of things to celebrate this year]."

The singer said that now that she's revealed her much-speculated-about secret, she feels like a weight has been lifted off her shoulders. "We told the world what's going on yesterday, and then I did two videos. It was a relief," she admitted. "Today I was, like, walking around, at least everybody, I feel like it made everyone else around me a little more relaxed. I feel like they were extra super-cautious about everything, yet not because they didn't know they were allowed to be."

Katy Perry's 'Firework' Video Sends Empowering Message

Clip for Teenage Dream song dedicated to 'It Gets Better' campaign.
By Jocelyn Vena

Katy Perry in "Firework"
Photo: Capitol Records

Katy Perry wanted her video for "Firework" to inspire people and she even dedicated it to the "It Gets Better" campaign. On Thursday (October 28), the newly married singer debuted the inspiring clip.

The video, posted on KatyPerry.com, opens with the camera panning a European city before Perry emerges in a lavender gown, standing on a balcony singing. But this isn't just some glamorous music video. Perry is sending a message: empower yourself and embrace your inner firework.

Soon, the video is intercut with stories of people who need to find their inner firework. One story is about a boy who is upset to see his parents fighting. Another follows a young woman at a party where everyone is in their underwear, and she doesn't feel comfortable. The third story follows a cancer-stricken youth who dreamily watches television.

By the time the chorus comes in, Perry's own inner firework is erupting from her chest, and with that, everyone else begins to also find theirs. The video's first protagonist pushes his father away from his mother to protect her. We are also introduced to another set of characters: two gay youths.

Perry then walks through the city, as the girl at the party decides to join in on the fun, and another guy is bullied in an alleyway for being a magician. The two gay youths embrace their feelings for one another and kiss, the magician dazzles the bullies with his skills, and the sick kid finds solace in the night.

Soon, a party erupts, with Perry in the center of the action, belting out the song's inspiring message as fireworks explode around them all.

What did you think of the "Firework" video? Give us your review in the comments below!

Justin Bieber's 'Never Say Never' Trailer Sends Inspiring Message

Bieber premieres the clip, which blends concert footage with home videos, at his Los Angeles show.
By Matt Elias

LOS ANGELES — In what was already a night full of surprises, Justin Bieber upped the ante at his Los Angeles tour stop by surprising the capacity crowd with the premiere of the trailer for his upcoming 3-D film, "Never Say Never."

After guest appearances by Usher and Sean Kingston, Bieber took time halfway into the show to make an announcement at the Staples Center.

"I don't know if I'm getting enough love tonight; it's gotta be louder — come on, guys!" The entire arena answered his call with a thunderous eruption of screams.

Satisfied with the reaction, the 16-year-old pop star continued by recalling the doubters in his life, those who said he'd never win a VMA or that he'd never get his own movie.

"I might get in trouble for this, L.A.," he said. "I got a special treat for you guys!" Then Bieber announced that he was going to debut the trailer as a thank-you to his fans.

With the lights dim, three large screens above the stage began playing the trailer, which first shows Justin as a toddler, banging an elaborate drum beat on a kitchen chair. A series of home movie clips chronicle his rise to fame — singing, playing keyboard, and strumming an acoustic guitar. Just 30 seconds in, it was almost impossible to hear the trailer over the fans' loud screams.

The preview follows with an explosion of eye-popping visuals from various concerts — sweeping camera moves that create an epic feeling. But what the trailer shows is that "Never Say Never" is more than a concert film. It takes you beyond the stage and shows his everyday life, and the famous people who helped him along the way. Most of all, the focus seems to be on the fans. There are chants of "Justin" in the background and firsthand accounts of the fans' devotion.

The trailer ends with Bieber giving words of encouragement to an audience.

"There's gonna be times where people tell you that you can't live your dreams," Bieber says. "This is what I tell them: Never say never!"

"Every step, everyone's always said, 'No, no, no, no,' " director Jon Chu told MTV News last week. "And he's always said, 'Yes, yes, yes.' And that sort of 'never say never' idea is conveyed in the trailer."

As loud as the Staples Center was at the beginning of the trailer, they raised the volume even more as it finished. Immediately following, Bieber broke into the film's title song, "Never Say Never," with the help of Jaden Smith.

And while the L.A. crowd only experienced the trailer in 2-D, you can experience the film in all its 3-D greatness when it opens Valentine's weekend, February 2011.

Jake Gyllenhaal, Anne Hathaway Talk 'Love & Other Drugs' Nudity

From the very first time Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway meet onscreen in "Love & Other Drugs," clothes come off and a whole lot of skin is exposed. That nude scene sets the tone for the rest of the film, surprising in that these two A-listers seem to bare it all at nearly every turn.

"I don't think there's anything wrong with nudity in film, and I would hope that any actor that is asked to reveal that part of themselves has as loving and open an experience as we had," Hathaway recently told MTV News.

Gyllenhaal clearly agreed and he was more than happy to let Hathaway explain the rather unique experience they had with their nude scenes in the movie opening November 24. "You're good at this one!" he said.

The usual protocol for nude scenes in Hollywood is for filmmakers to prepare a comprehensive outline of exactly what body parts will be exposed onscreen. Then the negotiations begin. That's not what happened between Gyllenhaal, Hathaway and director Edward Zwick on "Other Drugs," a film about a charismatic Viagra salesman (Gyllenhaal) who falls for a free-spirited beauty with one dark secret (Hathaway).

"We just kind of all decided to go a different way this time," Hathaway explained. "[Jake and I] talked about it and we talked with Ed about it and we said, 'You know, we're gonna do what we feel comfortable. Let's talk about why we feel this is important. Let's talk about the story we hope to tell through these scenes.' I think there's a big difference between having nudity and having two characters living their lives without their clothes on.

"Then once we kind of decided how we feel about it, we said, 'Ed, please shoot it as you see fit,' knowing that Ed is not an exploitative person," she continued. "And at the end, we were shown the scenes that Ed had cut and we were given full license to say, 'I don't like this, I do like this, I think this shot feels a little linger-y to me.' As a result, it became this organic process."

Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj And More VMA Virgins

Sunday is a big night for these first-time nominees and performers.

Be gentle with these guys — it's their first time as nominees or performers at the MTV Video Music Awards. Here's a look at this year's VMA virgins and where you'll see them come Sunday at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Ke$ha
It was almost impossible to turn the radio on and not hear Kesha's party-happy pop track "Tik Tok" over the past year. (She also did the background vocals on Flo Rida's ubiquitous "Right Round.") The singer is up for Best New Artist, and she'll present an award Sunday. "This is such a monumental thing for me to be nominated, because it really means people do really like what I'm doing," she said.

Nicki Minaj
Lil Wayne's wig-loving protégé will perform during the VMA pre-show on Sunday, and perhaps the mixtape diva will give us a taste of her forthcoming debut album, Pink Friday. "Obviously, this is something everybody dreamed of being part of, and I'm no exception to that rule," she said. "I just feel like this is my coming-out party. This is major for an artist with no album out."

Cascada
Natalie Horler fronts this German Eurodance group, and along with DJ Manian and Yanou, the band will make their VMA debut Sunday. They'll be competing in the newly revamped Dance Music Video category. Earlier this year, it was announced that they were the second-most-downloaded dance artists of all time. Who's the most downloaded? French DJ David Guetta, which brings us to our next rookie ...

David Guetta
The French DJ is responsible for sweating up dance floors, both international and domestic, and he finally nabs his first VMA for "Sexy Chick," featuring Akon.

B.o.B
The Atlanta rapper is up for five VMAs, and he'll take the stage for the first time.

Florence and the Machine
Florence and the Machine's Florence Welch is bringing her funked-out, soulful vocals to the VMA stage this year, where she's up for four awards.

Jason Derülo
The pop singer feels like he already won at the VMAs. Last year, he attended the awards, but he sat in the back of the house. "This year, I'm nominated for two awards. It's incredible," said the singer, who has opened for Lady Gaga. "I've watched these awards my whole entire life, so to finally be a part of it is a dream come true. Pinch me, please." Derülo will be taking the stage with VMA house artist Deadmau5.

Justin Bieber
Bieber presented a VMA with Ke$ha at the 2009 show, but this year, he's up for Best New Artist and is set to perform.

Deadmau5
In case you're wondering, it's pronounced "dead mouse" (real name: Joel Thomas Zimmerman), and he's a Canadian house producer. He'll be working as this year's house artist.

Chelsea Handler
The comedian is the first woman to host the VMAs since 1994. Prepare for laughter beyond belief from the E! talk-show hostess.

Drake
The Toronto rapper (and Lil Wayne protégé) is up for three Moonmen; he'll also perform at the VMAs for the first time.

Robyn
Fresh off a tour with Kelis, Robyn, a Swedish pop singer, will perform with deadmau5 on Sunday at the VMAs.

Bruno Mars
Up for one VMA (along with collaborator B.o.B), Bruno Mars will also perform for the first time at the VMAs.

Who's your favorite VMA virgin? Share your thoughts in the comments!

The 27th annual MTV Video Music Awards will be broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday. The party starts with MTV News' VMA Pre-Show at 8 p.m., followed by the main event at 9 p.m. ET. Fans can go to VMA.MTV.com (or text VMA to 97979 if they are Verizon subscribers) to vote for Best New Artist from now through Sunday.

Around 100 lucky tourists from English-speaking countries, as well as China and South Korea, are set to get their holidays paid for by the Japanese government, according to CNBC.

Kristen Stewart Talks Shedding 'Welcome To The Rileys' Stripper

Role 'stuck with me,' 'Twilight' actress confesses.
By Eric Ditzian

Kristen Stewart in "Welcome to the Rileys"

Kristen Stewart's got nothing against sucking face with a sparkly skinned vampire in the "Twilight" franchise, but make no mistake: The role of Bella Swan is not the one that has stuck with the actress the most intensely, even though she's returned to the character again and again over the past few years.

When it comes to KStew's most personal role, the winner is a troubled teen stripper who sells her body inside smoky New Orleans hotels in "Welcome to the Rileys." As she first explained to MTV News at Sundance earlier this year, she'd never felt as personally invested in a role as she did stepping into her first truly adult part, nor as intensely committed to a portrayal without a trace of superficiality.

The by-product of that approach was a difficulty in letting go of the character after the shoot ended. But the film wrapped production late in 2008, and when Stewart walked the "Rileys" red carpet recently in New York City, the 20-year-old told us that while the part continues to be close to her heart, she doesn't look back on the shoot in a negative light.

"As much as every character definitely sticks with you and you wear part of that, I sort of figured that it's like any life experience that you have that is a big deal," Stewart said. "It changes you and shapes you in a certain way.

"If you do a movie, especially this one — it's not the easiest thing subject matter-wise — it stuck with me," she added. "But not in a way that's like, 'Oh, I can't stop thinking about how horrible that was.' Not at all."

Check out everything we've got on "Welcome to the Rileys."

Britney Spears Inspires Another 'Glee'-Cap Musical

Heather Morris' moves and John Stamos' grin have us breaking into song.
By Jim Cantiello

Britney Spears and Heather Morris on the set of "Glee"
Photo: FOX

From the Heather Morris-starring scene-for-scene video re-creations to the sight of Lea Michele as a sexy schoolgirl to the debut of John Stamos, this week's Britney Spears-themed episode of "Glee" has everyone talking. But it has us singing. Without further ado, here are the lyrics to this week's "Glee"-cap!

Britney
You took over this week's "Glee."
Oh, baby you can hit me
One or two more times.

But when you act,
It's all sorts of crazy wack,
It's so good to have you back,
Even though you look 39.

A full hour of hits that are yours,
But then Lea performed Paramore.
[Jim speaks: What the f--- was that about?]
Oh, Britney, take these kids on tour.

[Jim speaks: Seriously, Heather Morris did Britney better than Britney ever did Britney.
Clip: Santana says, "Leave Britney alone!"
Jim: Sorry!
]

[To the tune of "... Baby One More Time"]
Oh, Stamos, Stamos,
How was I supposed to know
That you and "Glee" are besties?
Oh, Stamos, Stamos,
You're not singing "Kokomo."
No love for Uncle Jesse.

Mating with crazy eyes,
They're dating,
Schuester's fading,
Student's masturbating,
Oh, that's gross!

John Stamos has a dentist chair.
He gives "Glee" kids
So much sweet air.
When they go under,
They lose their mind.
Drugs are sublime!
Then it becomes Britney time!

[To the tune of "Everytime"]
Videos redone
Are so much fun,
But baby

Everytime "Glee" tributes
The plot falls by the wayside.
They just want you to buy
lots more soundtracks, baby.

"Glee" is structured like a porn.
They talk and then perform.
Scenes are shoehorned
Who needs story, baby?!

[Jim takes a hit of nitrous oxide, collapses.]

All Time Low Ditch 'Unicorn Poop' Sound On Dirty Work

'The last album came out sounding very, very polished,' ATL frontman Alex Gaskarth explains of going less pop for upcoming LP.
By James Montgomery

Photo: MTV News

Much of the discussion about All Time Low's upcoming Dirty Work album (which, sadly, is not named after the truly excellent Norm Macdonald film) has centered around the band's grown-up, "gritty" sound and what that means for the future of pop-punk's reigning class clowns.

So, not surprisingly, when All Time Low stopped by MTV News last week, they decided to clarify that "gritty" comment, because, to be quite honest, they're sort of getting tired of talking about it.

"When I said 'gritty,' I wouldn't say so much in terms of, like, what My Chemical Romance may have been going for on their new album ... it's definitely not anything like that," ATL frontman Alex Gaskarth said. "It's more in the sense of, the last album came out sounding very, very polished. ... We write music that really falls on the line between rock and pop and, a lot of the time, I feel like the deciding factor at the end of the day is how much production happens in post, and with the last one, we feel like maybe it leaned a little too pop for our band."

That doesn't mean, of course, that the guys in All Time Low regret making the shiny, snotty Nothing Personal, or anything of the sort. It's just that they don't feel like making it... again. Hence the big guitars, somewhat serious subject matter and rough-finish of Dirty Work.

"No regrets, it definitely was an awesome, awesome album," Gaskarth said. "It's just one of those things where, I think over the year and a half that it's been out we've sort of been able to approach it from all different angles," he explained. "When it first comes out, obviously you're really excited about it, and that's all you really pay attention to, but when you have a little time to step away and listen again, you kind of see everything you did right, but everything you'd maybe like to change next time."

Perhaps the biggest change of all? Taking a step back production-wise, a move that, for the first time on disc, has All Time Low sounding very much like a band just setting up in a room and letting it rip. You can call it maturation or you call it "gritty," and you wouldn't be wrong either way. But the guys in ATL have a very different way of describing Dirty Work.

"With Nothing Personal ... we were like, 'OK, this is our record, we can do whatever we want. We know how to record now, we know what we want.' And so we threw everything that we thought was, like, 'great production' against the wall," drummer Rian Dawson said. "And it sounded great, but at the end of the day, we were kind of like, 'This kind of sounds like. ... '

" 'It sounds like unicorn poop,' " Gaskarth added.

And judging by everything All Time Low are saying, Dirty Work is shaping up to be the very definition of an "anti-unicorn poop" album. That's certainly better than calling it "gritty," right?

Are you looking forward to new ATL music? Let us know in the comments!

Justin Bieber's Alleged Assault Victim Files Complaint

The 12-year-old boy's father has lodged formal complaint after incident at laser tag center.

A formal complaint has been filed against Justin Bieber after an incident at a laser tag center last Friday, Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported Monday night. The father of the 12-year-old boy involved in the incident has lodged a complaint against the teen star with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

The department indicated that it was investigating an incident at Planet Lazer in suburban Vancouver. But further information about the child who reportedly sustained a minor injury at the hands of the 16-year-old pop star was not made public because he is a minor. "In the case where it involves a minor, we're simply not in a position to ever release the person's name," RCMP Corporal Annie Linteau told CBC News.

Bieber had been in Vancouver over the weekend because he had a show in the area on Tuesday night. Ryan Seacrest put out a call on his Twitter to fans who might be going to the show to see if Bieber would comment on the matter, but it was later noted on his Twitter feed that the singer did not in fact address the incident.

"Cool, thx! RT @DARDALUPANG: @RyanSeacrest I went to JB Vancouver Show ... no mention of the 'incident.' He just thanked everyone for support," Seacrest tweeted early Wednesday morning (October 20).

As for Bieber, he has yet to directly comment on the matter, but on Tuesday he did tweet, "Take the high road." He later added, "Vancouver thank u for your support tonight. WE BACK!! #MyWorldTour"

Earlier this week, TMZ reported that after Bieber's camp spoke to police and witnesses backed up his story, it's been concluded that the singer did not instigate the confrontation with the tween, who may have used an anti-gay slur on the pop star. TMZ also reported that Bieber wanted to speak out against bullying after the incident.
